Schedule & Registration for Classes

Just in case you didn't know , You can take any of our classes with any make of sewing machine. ELNA is our preferred machine however, we have sewing experience on many different makes and models. Some machines have special features that make some task easier than others. There are many ways and techniques and if you have a machine that you like and it zig zags!, you will do just fine.

	English Smocking 101- Just learning or perfecting your stitching skills, this class is for you. Practice your stitches and techniques then move on to your  project, a bishop, bubble, daygown. Classes are set up so you learn.  the stitches, preparing the garment to smock and smocking, and  the basic embroidery stitches that you use to embellish your smocking with along with sleeve treatments. Beginners or a good refresher class.
	Heirloom Sewing Notebook  (by machine) - Complete your own sample notebook in this class. Learn, practice and create a sample of over 20 different techniques of French machine sewing. You will document each sample with all the settings and techniques on guide sheets supplied to you. Everyone finds this notebook an invaluable tool for all their future heirloom projects. Great class for beginners and all who want to enhance their techniques.
	Basic Crochet Edges  - Learn and practice 5 basic stitches that can be used to create  beautiful edges for slips, panties, and even beautiful blankets and other baby gifts. Caution! Crochet trims are very addictive! Beginners or a good refresher class.
	Construction Beginnings A-Line Jumpers & pants with ruffles!- Make a perfect a-line dress! Great beginnings for pattern layouts to hints for cutting out. Learn how to make ruffles and dress the bottom!
	Sewing With Knits Project The Knit Shirt is the new pattern from Children's Corner. We have gotten in several really sweet interlocked print fabrics that go with a lot of our fashion fabrics! A one session class that will load you up on all the tricks to sewing with knits! A quick project that will work on all good basic machines!
	Construction Bishop Dress- Demonstration class . Bring your notebook and all your questions. Class will cover from the beginning layout and cutting instructions, sewing French seams, pleating and then follow through with complete construction of a Bishop dress.
	Shadow Embroidery - Spend the evening learning and practicing a beautiful embroidery art of shadow embroidery.
	Basic Yoke dress Construction Class-We will cover all the techniques and tricks that will give you  perfect set-in sleeves that don't droop, peter pan collars that are smooth, gathers that are perfect, flat continuous bound plackets, and wrinkle free bias. Plus more!

S.A.G.A." The Smocking Arts Guild of America Meets every first Thursday Night of the Month at 6:30pm at the Store. Everyone is invited to join us!

You will document each sample with all machines settings, special feet, needles, thread to use and what application you will use each step for. 3 Meeting Class (Monday)     6pm-9pm (evenings)	English Smocking 101    (beginners and review) Get a jump on your Easter Smocking!!!	Learn the art of English Smocking, stitches ,preparation, blocking , centering, reading a graph, execution of stitch spacing.	Fee: $90.00 :includes kits  (pleated piece, dress kit, smocking plate, needle, floss, temporary smocking board)
1 Meeting Class (Saturday) January 5th 9am- 5pm	Picture Smocking      (intermediate -Advanced)	great plate to learn on and works all year!	Fees: $40.00 :includes kits (pleated piece, needles, floss, and handout)
1 Meeting Class (Monday)  jan.17th      5:300pm-9pm (evenings)	Construction of a Bishop Dress   (beginners and review) This is  a demonstration class, bring your cameras and note pads! A bishop from start to finish, even the bias neck bands done perfectly!!!	Demo Class bring notebooks	Fees: $20.00
1 Meeting Class (Thursday) December 27th    5:30pm-9pm (evenings)	Beautiful Crochet Edges (beginners and review)		Fees: $40.00 :includes kit (hemstitched burp pad, crochet needle, and perle cotton, and handout)
