"A Southern Winter"

This beautiful coat and bonnet was lent to me by one of my students from the "Coat & Dress Class. In the class the students first made the Princess dress from Collars Ect. and then we went into the art of making a true heirloom, the embroidered coat.

This coat was made with Doctors Flannel and lined in Satin Batiste, the embroidery was done with a beautiful silk and wool blended yarn.

The bonnet was an after thought. The pattern was Melissa from Wendy Schoen, the embroidery pattern with the bonnet worked well with our coat.

This coat and one other in the class were made for a future grandchildren! One coat and dress is in Oklahoma, another has been to a wedding in Saint Louis, and the last is on the eastern shores of Alabama waiting for Easter!
